1. How long does it take to park a vehicle?

Far less time than conventional parking; equivalent to valet parking.


2. How long does it take to retrieve a car?

In most cases, less than conventional parking but it depends on the size of the garage, user demand and the configuration of the equipment.


3. Is there a maximum and/or minimum size for Spacegate?

Physically, no. However, a small garage will have a high cost per spot on account of the ratio between the number of parking spots and the number of robots and elevators. There is no maximum size.


4. How does it handle oil, water and snow run-off?

Each parking stand will be equipped with a drip tray.

5. What about corrosion?

All components are galvanized or painted. All components can be inspected visually and regularly cleaned. Any corrosion can be treated with ease.


6. What exterior cladding is used?

Unrestricted - to suit owner/architect's specific requirements.


7. What happens if I loose my ticket?

With appropriate personal and vehicle identification the onsite or remote operator retrieves the vehicle in manual mode. A photo of every vehicle and license plate is taken on entry and held on file to help in this regard.


8. How is maintenance handled?

Maintenance is handled in a way to suit the owner or the operator. A ten year maintenance agreement covering the structure , equipment and software is recommended. However all moving parts in the Car park are recorded in real time and any urgently needed maintenance is reported online to our service department immediately. This is accomplished through a system of alarm messages connected to both the site specific computer as well as through a paging service to the technician at all times.


9. What if some equipment breaks down?

Built-in redundancy and duplication of all equipment enables "fall operation" status.


10. Will there be local expert on call?

Yes. Maintenance Engineers are locally reachable within a one hour call margin. In the interim the garage can remain operational.


11. What are the electrical power requirements?

The electrical power requirements are specific to every individual installation. All equipments are energy efficient. There is a separate chart available for electrical and power consumption for every cycle. Please email us at info@spacegatecarparks.com for a detail response on power consumption.


12. What if there is a power cut?

Spacegate comes with its own auxiliary emergency generator sized to maintain full functioning of the automatic garage.


13. What happens if a car catches fire?

A variety of fire fighting devices , measures and fire warnings and suppression protocols are available, which will respond to the local fire Marshall requirements. The Exit modules are fire fighting gas chambers, other than this each robot trolley can carry a water mist or inert gas, fire extinguishing system for automatic or manual deployment if required. Various other fire fighting solutions are offered to be installed within the carpark.


14. What precautions are taken with respect to fires and fire codes?

Spacegate will meet all local fire and life safety requirements as it has done in other comparable jurisdictions.
